One in seven of our people lives in poverty, earning less than $11,000 per year
One in six is food insecure, unable to put food on the table in a given year
One in five children lives in poverty, earning less than $22,000 in a family of four
One in four children faces hunger, the highest number since recording began in ’95
More than one half of our people live in poverty at least one year of their lives
Black and Hispanic citizens are 3 times as likely as whites to experience poverty
3-4 million citizens are homeless in a given year, nearly half of them children
One family, the Waltons, enjoys more wealth than 100 million of our people
