Temple native, ConVal graduate, Yale educated, Dan has an impressive record of community service. An AmeriCorps volunteer right out of high school, he went on to serve with, and eventually direct, Open Democracy and the N.H. Rebellion – organizations dedicated to promoting transparency and equality in elections and governance. He has been an active community leader in Nashua, where he resides with his wife and their two young children. By working with figures as diverse as Walter Peterson and legendary election reformer “Granny D,” he has proven he has the ability to work in a bipartisan fashion.
The Executive Council, by the way (sometimes called the “governor’s council”), is an extremely important body of five elected individuals with the power to approve, or countermand, all important financial contracts our state undertakes.
If the Legislature allocates money to repair infrastructure, for example, the council has the power to block execution with a simple 3-to-2 majority. Thus, Dan’s reliable record of a balanced, forward-thinking approach to vital issues, including job creation, sustainable energy and commuter rail, are crucially important to maintaining and improving our state’s economy and overall well-being.
So, Dan Weeks for Executive Council, District 5.
